Photographing Alison’s family one sunny mid-morning at Kammabaai in Hermanus was such a delightful experience. Alison’s two sons, one of their lovely wives, and their adorable grandchildren—both with sparkling blue eyes and blonde hair—were visiting, turning our session into a heartwarming little reunion.

As soon as I arrived, the youngest was joyfully frolicking in the sea, her carefree spirit capturing the essence of childhood. After some playful moments, we nestled into the shade among the rocks for our shoot. It was truly beautiful to see the family come together. The kids, especially, were a delight—running into the water, playing, and ending the session with ice cream, which resulted in the sweetest shot of her, ice cream-covered and all, in her birthday suit once again. It was a joyful, candid, and utterly memorable experience capturing these precious moments.
