Emma’s 21st Birthday unfolded in one of those golden, unhurried moments that feel quietly special. Hosted at her family’s beautiful home in Hermanus, the celebration was framed by sweeping views of mountains and ocean, a setting that naturally brings people together.

Close friends from school gathered on the deck to begin the evening, sharing drinks, laughter, and stories as the light softened over the view. Later, the celebration moved downstairs to the pool and under the gazebo, where a local chef prepared dinner, creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed, intimate, and full of ease.

This was my third time photographing Emma and her family, and I’ve also had the privilege of capturing her older sister’s 21st birthday. Being included in these milestones is something I hold with care, moments that quietly mark time, growth, and togetherness.
